The Court of Appeal has satisfied Pink’s appeal

The Court of Appeal has satisfied the appeal of Pink human rights defender NGO against the Judgment of the First Instance Court, by which the letter had found no violation in the decision of the Ministry of Culture on refusal to recognize advertisements spreading tolerance towards LGBT people to be social.

The Court of Appeal, in fact, has found, that the First Instance Court’s judgment was not justified and reasoned. As a result, the First Instance Court is obliged to reexamine the decision of the Ministry of Culture based on the claim of Pink.

Let us remind, that in 2017 Pink Armenia has appealed to the Ministry of Culture to accept advertising to promote tolerance towards LGBT people as social. The ministry refused, saying that ads do not have public importance, that the public is aware of the existence of people with “non-traditional” sexual orientation, so there is no need to advertise it.
