National Day to Combat Domestic Violence

On October 1st the Coalition to Stop Violence Against Women observed a National Day to Combat Domestic Violence in Yerevan’s Republic Square.

The participants of the event paid tribude to the women who died in a result of domestic violence. During the event there was an exhibition of the DV victims’ belongings, the representatives of the Coalition protested in front of the Government building demanding the adoption of the Law on the Prevention of Domestic Violence. The event was concluded with a vigil in memory of the victims.

National Day to Combat Domestic Violence is observed since 2010. The aim of the day is to prevent DV for stronger and healthier families.
