Picket action in front of the Prosecutor General office

The Coalition to Stop Violence Against Women, which came to existence following the tragic death of Zaruhi Petrosyan, will hold a picket action on January 31, 2011 in Yerevan, in front of the Prosecutor General’s office of RA. The Coalition to Stop Violence Against Women stand in solidarity with all victims of domestic violence in Armenia and urges the authorities to take immediate actions to ensure that cases such as Zaruhi Petrosyan’s don’t ever occur again, and if they do, they don’t remain unpunished.

This action is in solidarity with the “march to end violence against women in Armenia” initiated by the United Human Rights Council in Los Angeles, USA.

The Coalition calls on all citizens, activists and organizations to join this action to remind the authorities and everyone involved in prosecuting this case that the civil society in Armenia and the Diaspora is watching carefully and closely following the process to ensure justice.
